Malcolm L. Edwards is a Principal of the Essington Group and a Director of Essington Investments Pty Limited (1988: ACN 003 582 983); Essington Asia Pacific Pty Limited (1992: ACN 055 869 620); Essington Securities Pty Limited (1968: ACN 000 632 324).
As at 2021, he is a Director of Pacific Lion Holdings Limited; Member of Council, Commercial Education Society of Australia; Member of the Advisory Board VOOG Infrastructure Fund; and represents Essington on the Boards of Amidni Pty Limited, crop and plant cultivation; Carrington James Pty Limited, commercial services; Wellcome Australia Pty Limited, trading and vocational industries.
Formerly Managing Director of Essington Limited and Ariadne Australia Limited. He was also a Director of several private and public companies both in Australia and overseas including New Zealand, Hong Kong and USA.
As a director of IHC, European shipbuilders, Malcolm Edwards was involved in a "first" for Australia in the construction of a $1 million Single Buoy Mooring installation launched in September 1971 to load and unload super tankers in Botany Bay.

Anh Vu Ta, Director/Chief Finance OfficerMr. Ta’s commercial career has focussed in the financial and energy sectors. During the last 12 years, he has concentrated his efforts in the investment sector including gold and precious metals trading and has extensive contacts with substantial Asian and Middle East investment houses. In the energy sector, he has been active in exploration and mining of oil and gas production opportunities. He also has a keen interest in the future of alternative energy sources and was a co-founder of Environment-Dioxin Research Pty Ltd whose interests were acquired by the Wealth Riches Company Limited Group during 2010.

Essington Group principal companies were incorporated in New South Wales. Directors included, Sir William Pettingell, Sir Ian Turbott, J.G. Amedee, M. L. Edwards, M. G. King, N.E. Ohlsson, D.G. Paech, W.D. Wier.
The numerous Group entities combined traditional management style with entrepreneurial vision, consolidating diversified interests from property development, construction and tourism to manufacturing, the arts and strategic investments.

PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT and CONSTRUCTION
In 1984 the multi-million dollar development of Melbourne's largest city redevelopment now known as Melbourne Central on the corner of La Trobe and Swanston Streets, Melbourne.

In 1981 Essington, as shareholder with Consolidated Press Holdings and Leighton Holdings in Majura Investments Pty Limited, was runner-up in the short list of nine candidates running for a Queensland Gold Coast casino licence. In the same year Essington, together with AGC's Mirvac and Kerry Packer's Wentworth Holdings, acquired the Sebel Townhouse Hotel in King's Cross, Sydney.

Essington led the acquisition of the D2 site at The Rocks, now the Quay Apartments.

In 1983 Essington’s subsidiary, Tilverton Pty Limited, purchased the joint Coal Board site on Pitt Street and Macquarie Place in Sydney and developed those buildings and the Customs House Hotel as the new Ramada Hotel, now branded the Marriott Hotel.

In 1983 Essington acquired the Chevron Hotel at Potts Point in Sydney then redeveloped it in 1987 as the Nikko Hotel.
During 1985, Essington supported Allain Thompson for the Magnetic Island and Marina Joint Venture.
Residential property developments in 1985 included Gulf Point Marina Estate comprising 600 sites at North Haven Harbour located on the shores of the largest manmade marina in the Southern Hemisphere; Darlington dwellings on the Sturt River, South Australia; Craigburn Estate at Flagstaff Hill, South Australia, which was spoken of as a ‘landmark residential development’ due to the retention of large trees and waterways and subdivisions that fitted with the shape and orientation of the land and received the Civic Trust Award for Town Planning.

During 1985, Essington acquired the partially-constructed hotel development on Denarau Island, Nandi, Fiji. Essington branded the completed hotel the Sheraton Fiji.

Circa 1987 Essington secured 120 Collins Street, Melbourne, for development of a 265 metre skyscraper, which remained the tallest building in Melbourne until 2006.
In 1988, Essington purchased Vomo Island.
In 1989 Kindersley House at 20 O’Connell Street, Sydney was acquired by Essington from Hooker Projects as a long-term future development site.

COMMERCIAL
In the early ‘80s, through its subsidiary Film Bancor, saw the launch of the First Australian Film Fund which was another "first" for Australia in the sense that individual investors usually subscribed to a film - not to a fund.
FILM FINANCING
During the 1970s, First Northern Territory Cattle Co. operated Jindare Station at Pine Creek, Northern Territory, for cattle breeding and beef production. Jindare, covering a land area of 1,035 square kilometres, is located 190 kilometres south east of Darwin.

In 1982, along with Australian Consolidated Press, saw the acquisition of a majority interest in Sydney Pink Pages to compete directly against Telcom's Yellow Pages. During the same year, Penny Carl, Managing Director of Moneypenny Services – an Essington Group company – was sponsored by Essington and awarded the Australian Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year.

Williamson, a much respected name in the entertainment industry having sponsored opera from Nellie Melba in the 1920s to Joan Sutherland in the 1960s, plus Man of La Mancha, Fiddler on the Roof and the Russian Moiseyev Dancers, which company was transferred to Danbury Group in 1986.
International Attractions Pty Limited, an Essington subsidiary, produced “They're Playing Our Song” and “La Cage Aux Folles” which were successful theatrical productions both in Australia and in London’s West End. Other productions included “Me and My Girl” in 1986 and Nicholas Nickleby in Melbourne, Victoria. In 1988, Essington Entertainment also produced “Big River” which was based on the Mark Twain classic The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Essington venture capital projects included investment in the Ariadne Australia Limited Group and a majority shareholding in Magic Millions which owned the Gold Coast Convention Centre which is still used to stage major bloodstock auctions, including the Magic Millions and Golden Nugget Sales.

In 1987 Essington took control of The Cape York Space Agency (CYSA) and then gained the support of the then Federal and Queensland Governments – CYSA included a consortium of USA and USSR Agencies.
